Requirements

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to support one of our clients in creating high-quality documentation and training materials. In this role, you’ll work closely with client stakeholders, subject matter experts, and creative teams to transform complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, and accessible content.

This opportunity is freelance-based and project-driven, with varied scope depending on the client’s needs.

• Developing, organising, and maintaining training content in multiple formats including playbooks, API references, integration guides, online courses, face-to-face training, and end-to-end curriculum design.
• Translating complex technical concepts (e.g., AI, APIs, developer tools, cybersecurity) into simple, engaging learning content for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Creating enablement materials such as presentation decks, demo guides, eLearning modules, videos, infographics, and job aids.
• Designing and adapting curricula and structured learning journeys to boost engagement, confidence, and retention.
• Collaborating with SMEs to gather information, validate accuracy, and ensure alignment with product intent.
• Contributing to client learning strategies by acting as a consultant and shaping impactful solutions.
• Applying adult learning techniques to ensure content is accurate, accessible, and effective.
• Maintaining a consistent documentation style guide across deliverables.
• Exploring opportunities to apply AI-driven tools to improve workflows, efficiency, and content quality.
• Ensuring all work aligns with client brand guidelines and FYXER’s service standards.

• Great technical writing expertise, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in creating structured learning materials and documentation in various formats.
• Code literacy comfortable reading and explaining snippets in YAML, JSON, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with AI tools, APIs, or enterprise use cases for emerging technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects.
• Attention to detail and a solution-driven mindset.
• Collaborative and comfortable working with cross-functional teams in remote-first environments.

• This is a fractional, contract-based role, meaning work is assigned on a client-by-client basis, depending on need and availability. This setup offers flexibility and variety, working with different clients across industries, and it’s best suited to professionals who are comfortable with a non-fixed schedule and can adapt to changing workloads.
